AASTMT College of Language and Communication-Alexandria- Media Department Wins the 2nd Place in “Ebdaa Festival”
The College of Language and Communication, Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport celebrates its Media department students winning the second place in the category of short films at "Ibda’a Festival”
The jury of the 8th edition of Ibda`a Festival announced the winning of "Franklin”, a film produced by students of the Media Department in Alexandria.
Franklin acquired the second place in the Short Film Competition, with a financial prize of eighteen thousand Egyptian pounds.
Prof. Abeer Refky, Dean of the College of Language and Communication in Alexandria, congratulated the winning students, and stated that she will hold a ceremony to honor them and their supervisors for further encouragement, when the current crisis of the Corona virus ends. Wishing all college students more progress and prosperity.
Dr. Bassant Attia, Head of the Media Department, also congratulated the students and their supervisors, noting that "Franklin" is a short documentary about a girl who feels different and not belonging to her community, so she embarks on a journey to discover herself. At the end oh her journey, the girl discovers that difference does not necessarily mean society rejection, but it is always the secret behind being special.
The film was produced under the supervision of Dr. Amr Abdel-Hamid, Ms. Ameera Fouad and Ms. Jaylan Mahmoud. It was produced by the students: Areej Hamdi-Sana Bahi-Mayar Muhammad-Naira Mahmoud-Lubna Sameh-Rawan Ramadan-Amina Amoor-Salma Sameh-Ahmed Basem-Farah Hani-Anoud Emad.
