The International Maritime Day
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) celebrated Thursday, September 28, 2017, the International Maritime Day at its main headquarters in Alexandria.
In the presence of:
HE Dr. Hisham Arafat, Minister of Transport
Head of the Suez Canal Authority
His Excellency General Tariq Ghanem, Head of Maritime Transport Sector
His Excellency General Ahmed Khalid Saeed, Commander of the Navy
HE General Ali Ashmawi, Commander of the Northern Region
Where they were received by HE Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy
The Ministry of Transport has granted the head of the Suez Canal Authority, General Mehab Memish, the title of the public figure on the occasion of the celebration of the World Maritime Day
The Ministry of Transport also awarded the Alexandria Port the highest revenue surplus while Damietta Port won the best award in international transactions.
The Red Sea Port received the highest achievement award for the investment plan
The port of Sokhna was awarded the highest turnover of containers in the Red Sea
The port of East Port Said received the best trade port in the field of achieving the highest rate of container circulation in the Mediterranean Sea
While the Egyptian Authority for Maritime Safety was honored for passing the compulsory review by the International Maritime Organization,

Safaga has received the Ship of the Year award to transport the largest amount of strategic goods.
The best personalities who added to the maritime transport industry were Major General Hisham Al Sersawi, former head of maritime transport sector, and Admiral Ahad Adel Omran, vice president of the Egyptian Maritime Safety Authority.
In addition to honoring the Commander of the Naval Forces and the Commander of the Northern Region, the President of the Academy, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and the President of the Alexandria Chamber of Shipping, the guests visited the Planetarium Center, the Integrated Simulation Complex and the College of Maritime Transport and Technology.
