Objectives

  • The module discusses the data collection methods, the definition of the sample and the population, types of samples and methods selected, classification and display data graphically and tabular with a detailed study of measures of central tendency, dispersion, and skewness and principles of probability theory, random variables and discrete probability distributions, related probability distributions, and calculate the expected variation of these distributions, the study of sampling theory, correlation coefficients and simple linear regression.

Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: Acquaint the student with the nature of statistics and its relation with other disciplines. Define statistical concepts and statistical methods. Use statistical methods and their applications. Build the student’s skills in analyzing statistical relationships
