Objectives
- This course aims to provide the training in advanced fire fighting in accordance with OPITO Approved Standards, and introduces the competence statements and safety training for the offshore oil & gas industry personnel.
Outcomes
This course covers the requirements of OPITO Approved Standards. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in advanced fire fighting, a trainee will be competent to take command, organize and train fire parties and control fire-fighting operations. The offshore personnel will have acquired knowledge of fire prevention and an ability to inspect and service fire detection and extinguishing systems and requirement. He will also be able to investigate and report incidents involving fire
Course Contents
Confirm the suitability (or otherwise) of any pre-formed plan (time permitting Monitor and control the use of resources Evaluate progress and alter plans as appropriate Determine when incident is completedPractical: Demonstrate the elements of teamwork and using of Portable fire extinguishers Communication and control requirements and using of Fire fighting fixed systems- foam applicator. The process of giving reasons for effective briefing Practical demonstration on fighting fire by water and portable extinguishers
