Objectives

• This programme is designed to meet the initial training and assessment requirements for routine and emergency response operations for a Helideck Team Member as identified in the UKOOA Guidelines for Competence and Training in Emergency Response.

Outcomes

Delegates following a series of explanations, demonstrations and opportunities to practise, will as a candidate be assessed against the competence statements relating to the following training outcomes:• Heli-Deck team roles on Offshore installations for planned and intervention visits• Guidelines for helicopter travel to and from Offshore Installations• Relevant legislation and its contribution to Heli-Deck operations• Aircraft types and distinguishing features• Layout and characteristics of offshore Heli-Decks• Communications methods between Heli-Deck team members• Helicopter operational hazards• Materials in helicopter construction and how they are effected by combustion.
