Objectives
- This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for seafarers for familiarization, basic safety training and instruction in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of STCW Code and the British Wind Energy Association Marine Survival training requirements.
Outcomes
• The objective of this standard are to ensure that all personnel working in the marine offshore industry achieve the following: Don a lifejacket, Don and use an immersion suit Safety jump from a height into the water, Right an inverted life raft while wearing a lifejacket Swim while wearing a lifejacket, Keep afloat without a lifejacket Board a survival craft &take actions on boarding. Operate survival craft equipment. Operate location devices, including radio equipment• Have an understanding of the essential safety rules with which they must comply and how to act in an emergency.
Course Contents
Travel safely by vessel / or Helicopter to an offshore installation. Work safely offshore. Respond to vessel & rig emergencies. Survival at sea The location and use of personal life-saving equipments Emergency radio equipment Helicopter assistance. Survival crafts.
