Objectives

  • This course aims to meet the mandatory minimum requirements for seafarers for familiarization, basic safety training and instruction in accordance with Section A-VI/1 of STCW Code and the British Wind Energy Association Marine Survival training requirements.

Outcomes

• The objective of this standard are to ensure that all personnel working in the marine offshore industry achieve the following: Don a lifejacket, Don and use an immersion suit Safety jump from a height into the water, Right an inverted life raft while wearing a lifejacket Swim while wearing a lifejacket, Keep afloat without a lifejacket Board a survival craft &take actions on boarding. Operate survival craft equipment. Operate location devices, including radio equipment• Have an understanding of the essential safety rules with which they must comply and how to act in an emergency.

Course Contents

 Travel safely by vessel / or Helicopter to an offshore installation. Work safely offshore. Respond to vessel & rig emergencies. Survival at sea The location and use of personal life-saving equipments Emergency radio equipment Helicopter assistance. Survival crafts.
