Objectives

  • Identify and perform the different cargo operations carried out by Chemical tankers, including the operation of the inert gas system and tank cleaning system. Gas freeing cargo tanks in accordance with the standards accepted by the industry (WWT), explaining and applying contingency measures in the event of an emergency during such operations, improve their confidence will result in a more efficient cargo officer on board their assigned ship. This course covers all subject areas recommended by IMO model course 1.37.

Outcomes

The trainees who successfully complete the course will make a safer and more effective contribution to the operation and control of the cargo and ballast installation of a chemical tanker, which will improve the safety and provide greater protection of the environment.
