AASMT Training Courses

Objectives

  • This course is designed to facilitate the delivery of training in the competence standards required by the IMO Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch-keeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended. The main objective is to provide a useful modern introduction for those with limited teaching experience and introduce new approaches or serve as a reminder of skills and techniques for those who have been teaching for some time. In addition, it provides a modern sound basis for the delivery of other training programmes. Also, it includes the planning and preparation of effective teaching and instruction, the selection of appropriate methods of instruction and teaching materials, and the evaluation of the teaching and learning process subject to the modern higher education systems.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, the new instructor will be able to:- Carry out his/her fundamental teaching roles as per the relevant international requirements & standards.- Support his/her educational department in courses and programs design/ update.- Deal with his/her students by modern educational concepts- Participate in next ToT course of “Modern Concept of the GMP”.
