Objectives

• This course presents the management methods of marine inspections used in relation to the Maritime Safety and Maritime Security Management System, as well as the basic legal concepts of maritime law. When successfully passing this course, students will be able to understand the basic inspection techniques in the shipping industry.

Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to understand basic concepts in the following areas:1. Management and methods of inspections related to Maritime Safety Management System 2. Management and methods of inspections related to Maritime ships and port facilities Security Code 3. Management and methods of inspections related to MLC 20064 - Requirements for various memorandums of understanding5. The basics of international maritime law6. Maintenance plans used in the maritime transport industry
