Objectives

  • By the end of this program, the candidate will be able to command a yacht:-upto a maximum length of 78ft/24 meters.-In coastal waters up to 20 miles offshore.-In daylight hours and in fair conditions with moderate wind and sea conditions.

Outcomes

This certificate is the level of competence that one needs when sailing a yacht and the yacht has to be safely moored in a marina or anchored before dark.

Course Contents

The program covers subjects such as responsibilities of a bareboat skipper for Crew safety on board yachts, basic first aid, meteorological information, float plan, Pilotage and passage planning, collision regulations, lights, shapes and sounds, yacht handling in confined quarters, tides and current
