Objectives

• This introductory course covers the essential elements of vessels, cargo and their role in the international shipping industry. This course will help you gain knowledge about maritime industry and international trade, covering the two main topics: different types of ships and different types of cargo transported by sea moreover, looks at the most common types of cargo-carrying ships involved in the international trade

Outcomes

1. Understand the definition of world trade and its effect on the shipping industry and the supply and demand for ships and cargoes2. List the various ship types and the cargoes carried on board3. Define the core structure of the global shipping industry, including the various bodies and organizations involved in shipping4. Analyze the impact of legal requirements for the safe operation of ships
