Objectives
- On Completion of the course, candidates should satisfactory understand the basic of establishing Vessel Traffic Services System at harbor and familiar with the Equipment, Operators, Procedures, and Users of the Vessel Traffic Services System.
Outcomes
At the end of the course, candidates should be able to:• Realize the importance of VTSS, Understand its terminologies and Determine the types and levels of services provide by the VTSS.• Demonstrate understanding of safety and efficiency of navigating in High Traffic Areas. • Categories vessels which required the VTSS information.• Radio frequencies which will be used for reporting in the VTS areas.• Times and geographical positions for submitting the reports.• Identification and monitoring of vessels in High Traffic Areas.• Assist in prevention of pollution and co-ordination of pollution response.• Monitoring accident-prevention measures which depend on the VTSS capability of detecting and developing dangerous situations.
