Objectives
- On completion of this Course; trainees should be highly competent to handle various Navigational tasks related to chart work and position fixing.
Outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to:• understand the effect of wind and current on ship’s position.• distinguish between course to steer and heading, course line. Leeway track and course made good.make different responses to different situations during sailing with regards to wind and current effect• deal correctly with the different situations during approaches and navigating in confined waters.make use of the Gained chart work practice to handle various cases related to wind effect, current effect and combined effects on ship’s position and tracks.• differentiate between , plot and extract various types of ship position (E.P / Sea position / Fix)
