Objectives

  • Upon successful completion of the course the participants will have an overall understanding of the offshore industry and special requirements related to maritime operations. This includes that participants will:• Have knowledge of offshore terminology used on-board rigs, tankers and offshore vessels• Have knowledge of types and design of drilling rigs and its components• Have knowledge of the drilling process from start to completion• Have knowledge of Rig move operations and Anchor Handling• Have understanding of safety awareness in the oil and gas and offshore industry• Have knowledge of offshore personnel transfer• Have understanding of Stability of offshore supply and AHTS vessels• Have knowledge of type, purpose and utility of different specialized vessel used in the offshore industry• Have knowledge of classification requirements for vessels and rigs• Have knowledge of Permit to work system and importance of using correct.• Have knowledge of basics of dynamic positi

• Be able to perform the work through a framework of offshore international standards and regulating authorities• Be able to follow offshore industry and special requirements related to maritime operations.• Be able to find any relevant section and paragraph in the ISM Code on request• Be able to find any relevant policies, procedure or best practices on request• Be able to inspect wire according to IMCA's recommendations• Be able to adapt the relevant company procedures and wire rope records• Be certified as competent persons to do end terminations
