Objectives

  • 1- Preparing a teacher who can teach science and science-related subjects using the English language fluently and its various skills.2- Refine teachers’ skills for teaching scientific terminology by being able to linguistically analyze any term and its parts, enabling the teacher to master the teaching process and overcome the difficulties of teaching scientific terminology.3- Explaining and mastering the idiomatic expressions used in science lessons so that teachers can speak fluently inside the classroom

Outcomes

1- Proficiency in speaking English in the science classroom.2- Mastering the language of scientific terminology.3- Mastering the process of analyzing scientific terms and knowing the meanings of their linguistic roots.4- Mastering the process of telling stories fluently using the English language to explain Scientific information in a style preferred by learners.

Course Contents

1- Scientific topics from the science curricula of the school years from grade nine (I’adadeya) to senior three and explaining how to teach them and the required curricular and extra-curricular activities.2- Language items and idiomatic expressions used by the science teacher inside the classroom that help fluency.3- Educational tips help in improving the teachers’ professional skills and improving their way of thinking and their presentation skills and enable them to use the 21st century technology in teaching.4- Preparing a scientific-technological project with teaching content as an entitlement to the student’s graduation and his or her obtaining a professional diploma for teaching science subjects in English at the end of the study.
