Objectives

  • - Provide students with a word bank of terms and vocabulary items.- Develop the students' listening strategies for comprehending academic passages.- Develop the students' skills in presenting and understanding different points of view through analyzing different reading and listening activities.- Ensure systematic progress in students' language level.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, Students can do the following:Reading and Listening topics:- Read for general understanding before looking at the questions.- Complete listening exercises using missing sentences after making sure it fits logically.- Discuss a reading text and answer multiple choice questions after crossing out wrong options.Writing and Speaking topics:- Write grammatically correct sentences using adverbs and other types of comparison.- Discuss different issues related to health using related expressions and collocations.- Make suggestions and give advice using relative clauses- Write a review including using modals to vary the strength of opinion.
