Objectives

  • - Develop students' competence by reading graded texts of increasing length and authentic material.- Develop Students' skills in planning, drafting, revising, and editing narratives, descriptions, and explanations with attention to composition and style, as well as sentence formation, usage, and mechanics.- Familiarize the students with different highly developed syllabus that helps and develop student's four language skills.- Provide students with controlled practice in using language functions in various situations.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, Students can do the following:Reading and Listening topics:• Analyze various authentic reading texts in terms of common collocations and expressions• Use key words to help them, find answers • Listen for specific information in a wide variety of stories and reviews• Produce appropriate expressions using collocations and phrasal verbsWriting and Speaking topics:• Write a story describing action• Give a clear, systematically developed presentation, with highlighting of significant points, and relevant supporting detail• Write sentences using past tenses and time words correctly
