Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to create and deliver professional-looking printed documents such as magazines, catalogs, newspaper, flyers, brochures, posters and books.

Course Contents

• Knowing how to create new documents and work with new document options.• Understanding how to work with pages and add page numbering to InDesign documents.• Knowing what master page is and how to work with it.• Understanding how to work with selection, drawing, typing, transformation, modification and navigation tools.• Understanding the meaning of layers and how to work with them.• Knowing how to apply colors to objects using Color picker, Color panel, Swatches panel and Gradient panel.• Adding text and formatting it using Character Formatting Controls and Paragraph Formatting Controls.• Inserting glyphs and creating footnotes.• Importing graphics into InDesign documents and knowing how to create contact sheet and fit graphics to frames.• Adding transparency effects to objects.• Understanding how to create and format tables in InDesign documents.• Formatting text and objects using character, paragraph and object styles.• Reusing graphics and text in InDesign
