Objectives

• - Develop students' skills in Preparation of financial statements: balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes in equity, statement of cash flows; valuation of assets and liabilities; operating and capital leases, impact of equity transactions; revenue recognition; income measurement, major differences between GAAP(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).- improve students' skills in Planning process; budgeting concepts; annual profit plans and supporting schedules; types of budgets, including activity-based budgeting, - Students will be able to analyze internal control and performance evaluation including revenues, costs, profits and investment in assets, variance analysis based on flexible budgets and standard costs; responsibility accounting for revenue, cost, contribution and profit centers; and balanced scorecard.- Students will be able to understand Cost concepts, cash flows and terminology, cost measurem

Outcomes

Candidates will have the knowledge and ability to prepare financial statements, assess assets and liabilities, acknowledge revenue, the key differences between US GAAP and IFRS, to calculate and control costs, cost estimating systems, manage the supply chain and perform business operations, prepare and review Budgets, forecasts, annual profit plans and supporting schedules, to establish key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze variances, evaluate performance including revenue, costs, profits, investment in assets, balanced scorecard, establish and monitor internal control procedures, responsibility and authority for internal audit, and assess the adequacy of accounting information system control ; and business continuity planning.
