Objectives

  • - Develop students reading, writing , listening skills by demonstrating face-to-face conversations comprehension and phrases used in common everyday context - Summarize information from different listening tasks- Provide students with a word bank of terms and vocabulary items- Use learned strategies to identifying the topic, the main idea, and supporting details to interpret short narrative or descriptive passages on familiar topics

Outcomes

By the end of this course, Students can do the following:Reading and Listening topics:• Skim for main ideas and scan for specific information• Practice relevant, high-frequency vocabulary in various contextualized exercises• Review grammatical items that help in communication• Analyze various authentic reading texts in terms of common collocations and expressionsWriting and Speaking topics:• Talk about future plans & possibilities• Ask grammatically structured questions related to basic needs and respond appropriately using short phrases and sentences Participate in role-plays, discussions and problem-solving activities• Talking about mysteries
