Objectives

• - Develop students skills in realizing and analyzing the main idea and details of a text- Develop students reading, writing , listening skills by exposing them to different activities- Develop the students' skills in presenting personal opinions, understanding different points of view and distinguishing between fact and opinion, through analyzing different reading and listening activities- Develop Students' skills in planning, drafting, revising, and editing narratives, descriptions, and explanations with attention to composition and style, as well as sentence formation, usage, and mechanics.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, Students can do the following:Reading and Listening topics:- Read texts in English with comprehension and expresses orally her/his opinion about it. - Boost the students' knowledge to understand and extract the essential information from short, recorded passages- Identifying main ideas of discussion related to different countries cultures- Generally follow the main points in an formal discussionWriting and Speaking topics:- Talk about friendship and characters- Write an e-mail and a post card using appropriate linking words- Talk about people and culture of different countries- Write grammatically correct sentences using present continuous and past continuous tenses
