Objectives

• • Developing and improving the users understanding of working with maps• Building a MapInfo Professional Projects.• Helping users to use maps to plot their own information and present this using maps.• Handling tables including selections and queries.• Exchange data between MapInfo & ARCGIS

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the learners will be able to:• Open workspaces and tables within MapInfo.• Use the common MapInfo functions such as zoom in or out, move around the map, measure distances on the map.• Order and control layers and what is displayed on the maps.• Add points, lines or regions to maps.• Add information to anything plotted on the map.• Find objects in the map.• Select areas from the map based on criteria.• Create a legend for items on your map.• Create a thematic map from your MapInfo layer.

• Introduction to MapInfo.• Thematic Maps.• Tracing, editing, table maintenance.• Geo-referencing.• Creating graphs, thematic maps and layout.• Export\ Import to AutoCAD.• Export\ Import to Arc GIS
