Objectives

• - Develop students’ reading skills of a variety of texts.- Develop students’ listening skills to short and long conversations - Provide students with pronunciation tips- Produce every day expressions aimed at the satisfaction of everyday needs - Develop students' speaking skills of giving general remarks on speakers and discussing different topics.- Expand the range of topics for class discussion- Use clues to guess the meaning of simple texts- Extend students' knowledge and use of grammar - Increase students' vocabulary use and knowledge - Give students the opportunity to interact meaningfully with videos.- Provide students with high – frequency and need – to – know expressions in various situations- Develop students' writing skills of different genres

Outcomes

By the end of this course, learners can do the following:Reading and Listening topics:• Give synonyms and antonyms for various vocabulary items.• Read sentences and rephrase them in their own way.• Read sentences and fill in the gaps with appropriate words.• Explain captions related to pictures.• Skim through a variety of texts to choose correct answers • Give a summary of the information about short videos, listening tasks.• Recognize the main idea in surveys and short texts• Complete various listening activities based on authentic interviews and discussions• Identify the main idea of various reading textsWriting and Speaking topics:• Carry out various writing tasks • Ask questions and give appropriate answers• Revise various grammar lessons.• Ask and answer very simple questions, initiate and respond to simple on very familiar topics• Write an email / a travel advice / a blog / an invitation• Write affirmative and negative sentences• Talk about needs, work skills
