Objectives

• - Familiarize the students with a highly developed syllabus that helps and develops student's four language skills.- Develop students' critical thinking skills and develop their expression of opinions independently through different reading passages.- Develop students' writing skills of proficient and coherent paragraphs.- Develop students' self-confidence to express his/her ideas and opinions with precision and respond to complex lines of argument after holding a group discussion.- Develop students’ analytical skills and critical thinking skills in listening and interactive tasks.- Summarize information from different sources as well as listening tasks.- Provide students with a comprehensive glossary of new idiomatic expressions, terms and vocabulary items.- Analyze the structure of narrative as well as argumentative texts- Develop student's four language skills by familiarizing the students with different highly developed vocabulary items and expressions.- Expand students'

Outcomes

By the end of this course, Students can do the following:Reading and Listening topics:• Analyze various authentic reading texts and identify clues for meaning.• Comprehend a reading passage using missing sentences and linking words. • Produce appropriate statements using determiners and quantifiers.• Listen to some tasks and be able to take notes summarizing what they have heard.• Identify main ideas and specific information through skimming and scanning a variety of listening activities• Participate in dialogues and debates by practicing the newly learned vocabulary items.• Review grammatical points in the comparison and contrast of different texts. • Analyze various authentic listening texts in terms of common collocations and expressions.• Analyze various authentic reading texts and identify the main ideas and major details.• Participate in different types of tasks by comprehending a reading text using missing sentences and linking words. • Use appropriate expressions
