Objectives

• - Familiarize the students with different highly developed texts - Expand students' skills effectively by elaborating their critical thinking skills and formulating their opinions independently through different types of receptive tasks- Develop students' abilities in writing efficient and coherent paragraphs- Develop students' self-confidence to express his/her ideas and opinions with precision - Boost students’ skills of responding to arguments in debates

Outcomes

By the end of this course, Students can do the following:Reading and Listening topics:• Analyze various authentic reading texts and identify the different types of details• Recognize linking words in reading texts to help them identify where the missing sentences go• Produce appropriate expressions using determiners and quantifiers• Summarize ideas after listening to some tasks Writing and Speaking topics:• Conduct a conversation comparing and contrasting issues using adjectives and adverbs• Write an email or a letter using formal or informal language• Write a review explaining and describing something• Give a presentation discussing different types of information
