Objectives

• Enhancing students reading skills by exposing them to a wide variety of reading materials, also by reading aloud with fluency.-Widen students’ vocabulary by teaching them both specific words using rich contexts provided by authentic texts rather than in isolated vocabulary drills.- Improving listening and speaking skills by developing understanding of short texts containing features of authentic native speaker speech. - Developing students’ writing skills by using pre -writing strategies to plan the writing ideas then writing effective and coherent paragraphs.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, Students can do the following:• Improve their speaking ability in English both in terms of fluency and comprehensibility .• Retell stories including key details.• Distinguish main ideas of a given text .• Develop reading speed• Answer their own and their peers questions by connecting ideas .• Can introduce and give personal details .
