Objectives

• The course aims to equip the trainees in a practical, interactive and applicable manner on how to carry out future studies and identify the foresight and its applications in the different fields of work, and learn the most important foresight tools that are widely used internationally, including the Delphi method and /or building and writing of future scenarios.

Outcomes

The participants will be trained in a theoretical and practical way by selecting real models related to the practical background of the trainees. Participants will shape their future and determine their foresight using many tools used in the future building, the trainees will learn:• The concept of foresight and the difference between it and planning.• How to define the Foresight project framework.• Choose the appropriate foresight tools for your work.• the current situation measurements and the most important analysis used.• The method of Delphi tools and how to run sessions and extract future topics.• Analysis of data and programs used in questionnaires• Identify the driving forces for the future topics to be envisioned.• Future scenarios and their types.• Building future scenarios in different ways.• Writing the future scenario for the foresight.

Course Contents

• A general introduction to the Foresight, history and the most important methods used and the study of international experiences such as Korea and Japan, and what are the steps of future studies.• A theoretical introduction on the Delphi method to explore the future and what is the history and the countries that use it and what are its disadvantages and characteristics of this method.• Define the framework of the future studies project, how to define goals and the outputs, and choose the appropriate method and time frame for foresight.• Studying the current situation and the trends and identifying the tools used to study the current situation such as STEEP and PESTEL analysis.• The identification of Delphi fields and the structure of the Delphi questionnaire and the methods of selection and role of participating experts.• Identifying future topics. Identifying how future topics are derived and the characteristics of topics that may be realized in the future.• The design of the Delphi
