Objectives

  • This course will help participants decide that safety is every body's business through understanding of accident causes, hazard risks and safety conditions. It will also encourage employers and employees to reduce workplace hazards and to implement new or improve current safety and health programs. Moreover, safety responsibilities for both employees and employers will be explained.Furthermore, delegates will learn the basics of performing a Job Safety Analysis (JSA), which is a proven process for controlling operating hazards and costs. A step-by-step overview of the process will be discussed and essential roles to ensure its effectiveness will be defined.Through lectures, demonstrations, and workshops, delegates will learn how to develop and manage a JSA program in their workplace. Also, they will learn how to enlist participation from line employees, supervisors, and upper management.

The need for safety in the workplace Basic & advanced concepts of Health& Safety Programs Reporting and emergency preparedness Working safely with machines, tools, mobile equipment, special jobs, difficult work processes Working safely with electricity, flammable material & Fire hazards Overview of JSA:- Understanding JSAs and when to do them- JSA terminology Understanding JSA’s relation to continuous improvement in your organization Identify the key requirements for a successful JSA Recognize the hazards inherent in task performance. Develop appropriate solutions and hazard controls Workshop: Complete a JSA for example at your site (or using standard examples in course) to reduce personal injuries and operating costs (repeated 2 or 3 times, as time permits) Exam
