Objectives

  • This course aims to explain that individual health related information might be included in Manual medical record, Electronic medical record or both (a hybrid health record HHR). This course will provide a broad overview of the application of major information systems in the delivery and administration of modern healthcare systems. The use of Decision support systems, computerized provider order entry and Barcode medication administration in the context of the Electronic Health Record (EHR), will be a major focus of the course. Furthermore, it aims to explain different international coding systems as an essential part of information management in healthcare. Finally, it aims to demonstrate the use of descriptive and inferential statistics to present data in a simple comprehensible format.
