Objectives

• The course provides candidates with appropriate , comprehensive knowledge as well as practical skills for application of infection prevention and control in core health care unite for example , neonatal intensive care , operating theater , ICU and outpatient clinic .

Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, candidates will be able to • Explain surgical site infection prevention strategies • Understand the proper operating theater design and environmental control• Discuss basic infection control considerations in the operating theater • Classify the preoperative, intraoperative & post-operative infection control measures • Apply safe surgical infection control practices • Demonstrate proper decontamination and reprocessing process of medical devices
