Objectives

  • • The course describes the processes required for effectively reporting, investigating, and analyzing patient safety incidents and medical errors, presents effective strategies for educating, engaging, and training clinicians and staff in patient safety initiatives, and • Introduces measurement techniques and methods used to evaluate the effectiveness of patient safety efforts and target specific areas for improvement. • Also, the course highlights the risk management process, identification, assessment, and prioritization of risks followed by coordinated and economical application of resources to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of unfortunate events or to maximize the realization of opportunities.

Outcomes
