Course Contents

Scenarios are one of the best-known Futures studies methods and are used by SMEs, large corporations, regions, third-sector organizations, and international bodies to consider alternative futures and explain new ways forward. This course introduces concepts, methods, and practices of making and utilizing scenarios. The course aids participants to construct and analyze scenarios for a various situations faced by businesses. Participants will learn how to utilize environmental scanning, the impact / uncertainty matrix, PESTEC (Political, Ecological, Social, Technology, Economic, Cultural) framework, and the Futures table to build strong narratives of alternative Futures. They will take a critical view about what scenarios, as rigorously imagined Futures, can/cannot do to support organizations in navigating uncertainty
