To establish a cluster of Mediterranean green ports that promotes sustainability, energy efficiency, and low-emission practices in maritime transport, through cooperation, digital tools, and pilot actions across the Mediterranean basin.

Objectives

  1. Key Objectives

    • Promote energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in port operations.
    • Create a network of six Local Green Port Hubs in Italy, Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, Malta, and Tunisia.
    • Develop and implement a Carbon Footprint Platform (CFP) shared by all partners.
    • Support pilot activities for decarbonization and energy transition.
    • Encourage cooperation agreements and training on sustainable port management.
    • Institutionalize working groups for long-term regional collaboration.
