Abstract

Programme Specific Objective

 Developing and enhancing research and innovation capacities and the   uptake of advanced technologies.

Project Purpose & Expected Result

Purpose: To create and practice an acceleration programme; to enhance SMEs' growth and competitiveness; and to foster job creation in SMEs through a transnational network of hubs.

Objectives

  1. Main Work Packages (WPs)**

    1.  Management and Coordination:

         Overall project coordination, quality monitoring, risk management, and executive management.

    2.  Communication and Dissemination:

           information and awareness campaigns, promotion and dissemination events, and advocacy initiatives for sustainability.

    3.  Transnational network of Accelerating hubs:

           Creation of the SPEEDUP network of local hubs, capitalization of best practices, and training for staff operating the hubs.

    4.  Acceleration programme:

         Creation of the common SPEEDUP acceleration programme and its piloting with SMEs.

    5.  Empowerment of SMEs' starting up/development:

         Supporting new and existing SMEs through monitoring, mentoring, and advocacy for long-term sustainability.

    Key Outputs & Indicators**

    *   **1** Transnational network of Accelerating hubs created.

    *   **22** Total local hubs (7 main hubs by partners + 14 connected hubs by associates).

    *   **35** Staff members trained to operate the networked hubs.

    *   **1** Acceleration programme created.

    *   **210** SMEs involved in the piloting of the acceleration programme (30 in each of the 7 countries).

    *   **140** New and existing SMEs empowered (new start-ups and existing SMEs strengthened).
