 Forum Overview
In November 2015, the College of Maritime Transport and Technology (CMTT), the oldest college of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), submitted a status report to The Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ZEvA),
Hanover, Germany, one of the greatest evaluation and accreditation bodies in Europe, with focus on higher education, as a first step towards accreditation of the CMTT’s B.Sc. programs in Maritime Transport (4 streams) and Marine Engineering Technology ( 2 streams).

The report was reviewed by ZEvA’s staff and a preliminary report was sent to the College .Their comments were covered and, subsequently, they paid us a 2-day visit and were indeed surprised with the resources they found at the Academy at large and the College in particular. Accordingly, the College programs were accredited for 5 years as of March, 2017.
In addition, the idea of organizing a CMTT-ZEvA joint International Forum on Quality and internationalization of higher education was proposed and initial thoughts were furnished, which were further sharpened after many correspondences between both sides and an initial agenda of a 2-day Forum, to be held at the AASTMT main campus, Abu- Kir, Alexandria, in December 3-4, 2018, was issued in February, 2018. Targeted groups include Arab, African and Asian universities and higher education institutions, both governmental and private, in addition to other organizations concerned with higher education and international cooperation.
