Basma ElSharef is an Assistant Professor at the Department f Mechanical Engineering at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Smart Village Branch. Dr. Basma has received her PhD in Modelling and Simulation from Dublin City University, Ireland. Her research work aim was to develop an understandable set of notations that is able to model processes specific to the manufacturing domain. These notations should also be able to easily produce quantitative data that are useful in describing manufacturing systems behavior. She has previously been appointed as a Teaching Assistant and an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering (IME), Abo Qir Campus, and has been working in the academic field of teaching and research since graduation in 2006. She has a considerable experience in teaching Industrial Relations, Materials Technology, Project Management, Engineering Economy, and Manufacturing Technology. She has supported administrative and academic advising services at IME such as quality coordination, academic advising, and final exams scheduling. Also, she has been involved in the accreditation process of industrial engineering required by ISO. Dr. Basma research interests lie in the modelling, analysis, and performance improvement of industrial and manufacturing systems and business processes. She is interested in the use of discrete-event simulation, business process modelling and business process simulation.
