Heba Elsayed is an assistant lecturer and teacher trainer who considers herself an autonomous learner. Her teaching, coordination and supervision involve creativity, innovation as well as professional development in which she puts to use the knowledge she acquired – from her BA in Education, Diploma in Applied Linguistics, and Masters in TEFL from AUC – and the skills she gained over 15 years of experience in teaching and supervising an array of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) programmes at AASTMT including English for Maritime Studies, Logistics, Marine Engineering, Computing, Engineering, Tourism, Business and Language and Communication. In addition, Heba Elsayed is well-experienced in developing curricula and syllabi, e.g. the English for Maritime Studies Programme, and developing supplementary learning materials for all taught courses, designing a variety of assessment and testing tools and evaluation criteria, as well as training teachers and coordinators on integrating technology into teaching and learning in the CALL module she developed for the Language Teaching Training Certificate (LTTC). She is currently a PhD student, at Cardiff Metropolitan University in Wales.
