Cherine Fathy was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1977. She received her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in computer engineering from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Alexandria, Egypt, in 2000, and 2004, respectively. She received a Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering, from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Cairo, Egypt, in 2013. In 2004, she joined the computer engineering department at AASTMT as a teaching assistant and became an assistant professor in 2013. She became an associate professor in 2023. Currently, she is the head of department of Computer Engineering , smart village branch. Her current research interests include computer networks, mobile ad hoc networks (MANET), Internet of Things (IoT), Software Defined Networks (SDN), Routing protocols, Load balancing, mobile agents, Machine learning, and Biomedical Engineering.
