In 1984, Dr. Ragheb graduated with a B.Sc. degree from Alexandria University in Alexandria, Egypt. He then earned his MS and PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY, USA in 1990 and 1994, respectively. He worked for 2 years as a Program Manager in the Technical Cooperation Office for the Environment (TCOE) in Cairo, Egypt. His academic career at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Alexandria, started in September 1996 to date. He was the founder of the Soil Mechanics Lab and the Coordinator of the Geotechnical courses. His main interest is in Centrifuge modeling, Dynamic response of saturated soil, Numerical Modeling and Simulation of Liquefaction, Behavior of shallow and deep foundations under static and dynamic loads, Collapsible soil, Soil improvement.
