Dr. El Banna graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Alexandria University, in June 2011. She went on to complete her master's degree in Biotechnology at the Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, Alexandria University, in September 2014. She began her academic career as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Biotechnology, Misr University for Science and Technology, where she worked for two years. She then transitioned to the Faculty of Pharmacy at El Ahram Canadian University in 6th of October City, serving in the Biochemistry Department for a year. Subsequently, she returned to her hometown, Alexandria, where she joined the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AAST) as an assistant lecturer. During this time, she pursued her Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the Medical Research Institute, Alexandria University. She successfully earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics between Fall 2017 and Spring 2022. Thesis Title: Evaluation of the Potential Antitumor Effects of Vitamin A and/or PD-L1 Cellular Checkpoint Inhibitor on Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cell Lines.
