Dr. Essam Elgendy had his B.Sc. in Mechanical Power Engineering from Helwan University in 1996, and awarded his Ph.D. in energy efficiency of gas engine driven heat pump at Magdeburg (Germany) in 2011. Dr. Elgendy, since this date, has been a lecturer in Mechanical Power Engineering Dept., Helwan University, Egypt. During this period, he was the head of refrigeration and air conditioning laboratory. Moreover, Dr. Elgendy awarded a cooperation project as a PI between Germany and Egypt for two years. Also, he has awarded a post doctor in Germany in solar cooling systems. At present, he is an assistant professor in Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport, Egypt. He has highly experience in areas: Thermodynamics, Heat transfer and Refrigeration and air conditioning. He had experienced in teaching Mechanical Power Engineering topics especially Thermodynamics, Fluid mechanics, Numerical methods, Refrigeration and air conditioning and solar cooling at Helwan and Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport, Egypt. Dr. Elgendy supervised thirteen M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses. He published about twenty five papers in international journals and conferences. In the field of industry, Dr. Elgendy is involved in many of international projects for solar systems such as MATS project which is funded from Common Europe and solar cooling system which is funded from STDF.
