Dr. Ahmed Dahroug is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems and currently serves as Vice Dean of Student Affairs. He earned his Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Vigo, Spain, in 2019, after completing his M.Sc. at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in 2015. With over six years of academic experience, Dr. Dahroug has taught a wide range of courses including Systems Analysis and Design, Project Management, Databases, Human–Computer Interaction, Information Systems Theory and Practice, eLearning, and eBusiness. His research focuses on fake news and fake reviews detection in Arabic social media, cybersecurity in the financial sector, and the application of large language models (LLMs) in business and marketing contexts. He has published 19 peer-reviewed papers, accumulating over 79 citations and an h-index of 4. Dr. Dahroug has actively contributed to international research projects, including the European-funded CrossCult Project, and has co-applied for Erasmus+ Capacity Building and Erasmus Mundus initiatives. Beyond his research and teaching, Dr. Dahroug has extensive experience in academic advising, career mentoring, and ABET accreditation processes, demonstrating strong leadership in higher education.
