Amira Shaher, an English Language Instructor at the College of Language and Communication, has been working for the Arab Academy since 2002 as a part-time instructor. She is a graduate of the English Department, Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University and her major is English Literature. She is pursuing her PhD degree in English Literature. In 2020, she has held her MA Degree. In 2008, she had a post-graduate diploma in Applied Linguistics with a “Very Good” Grade, which added to her pedagogical skills. Her passion for English Literature drove her to pursue her post-graduate studies in her major. Currently, she is the Head of Quality Assurance Unit in College of Language and Communication, Alexandria Headquarters. She worked as Academic Advisor for Postgraduate Programs in Applied Linguistics, Joint Degree between AAST and College of Language and Communication, Alexandria University, in Fall 2013 till September 2014. She was a Certified Clerical Marker and Invigilator for IELTS International Exams (April 2013 – June 2015) and meanwhile, she is a Certified Speaking and Writing Examiner. Her 18 years of experience enhanced her proficiency level as an Academic Instructor. Teaching ESP courses in Colleges of Engineering, Business Administration (English and Arabic sections), Hotels and Tourism, and Maritime Transport (Nautical and Marine Engineering Departments), in addition to teaching nautical-oriented English courses at Port Training Institute to Engineers and others of different professions aiming to enhance their English Language proficiency. In 2010, she was fully-appointed as ESP Practitioner and held the post of Academic Coordinator. As per College of Language and Communication, she assists in teaching Victorian & Modern Poetry and Modern Drama, and teaches conversation classes.
