| Description/Outcomes | This course is a part of the “Biomolecule Activity Clusterâ€. Biosynthetic pathways of secondary metabolites, biotransformation and semi-synthesis of pharmacologically active compounds using bacterial and plant tissue cultures will be covered. Practical exercises are designed to train the students on common chemical tests and modern isolation techniques of secondary metabolites from medicinal plants. Students are exposed to skills as extraction, fractionation, purification, and structural elucidation of secondary metabolites |
