Description/Outcomes | This course provides the students with the knowledge of the basic principles of pharmacology, pharmacodynamics (general and molecular aspects) and pharmacokinetics. Concepts of agonism, antagonism, and modulation of receptor activity are reviewed together with a general overview of the different potential interventions with the of various neurotransmitters and humoral mediators as examples of mechanisms of drug action. Practical exercises aim to help students apply this acquired knowledge using selected in-vitro animal models as well as simulation techniques. |
