| Description/Outcomes | This course elaborates on the biochemical basis for interpreting laboratory test results, and provides the essential information used to screen for or diagnose diseases and monitor the effectiveness and safety of therapy. Students are exposed to basic pharmacogenomics information. Reference ranges and critical values are provided. The scientific basis for laboratory tests for kidney, liver and heart , lipid disorders, infectious diseases, cancers and tumor markers, genetic disorders, rheumatic diseases, and others will be discussed. |
