About "US-Egypt Workshop"

Towards Egypt’s Energy Vision 2030 focus mainly on two pillars of Egypt vision 2030 which are Advanced Infrastructure through Promoting Sustainable Energy Resources and Systems, and Social Justice and Equality through recognizing human beings as the central aspect of development.

Therefore, the workshop will highlight the efforts, opportunities and challenges toward fulfill Egypt’s Energy Vision2030. Efforts are being made to promote decolonization, electrification, education, and access as part of Egypt's just energy transition.

Advanced infrastructure is being established to support sustainable energy resources and systems, while increasing the penetration of renewable energy considering the challenge of high cost of energy storage.

Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport

AASTMT started as a regional institute for maritime transport as a notion in the Arab League Transport Committee’s in 1972.
Over more than 40 years, the AASTMT has had many achievements in education, training, and research in the fields of maritime transport, engineering, and management sciences, this is due to the methodological application of modern technology in these fields.
The AASTMT was thus able to move from regionalism to internationalism.
In 2007, the AASTMT was among the institutes that occupied the first six positions on the list of the ISO''s (International Organization for Standardization) international educational institutes who were to receive the Organization’s award for standard levels of higher education.
The AASTMT has is now providing many educational tracks in terms of high quality and diversity of service to harmonize with the dynamic development. AASTMT has more than 9 campuses inside and outside Egypt divided as follows: 3 in Alexandria (main head quarter, Egypt), 1 in New Alamien, 2 in Cairo (Egypt), 1 in Port Said (Egypt), 1 in Smart Village (Egypt), 1 in South valley (Egypt), 1 in Latakia (Syria).
The AASTMT has around 25,000 Students from 20 different countries, in additional to international teaching staff as well.

About Alexandria

Alexandria is the second largest city in Egypt, and the largest city on the Mediterranean cost. Founded in c. 331 BC by Alexander the Great. Alexandria is a popular tourist destination and an important industrial centre. Alexandria is a Mediterranean port city in Egypt. During the Hellenistic period, it was home to a lighthouse ranking among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World as well as a storied library. Today the library is reincarnated in the disc-shaped, ultramodern Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The city also has Greco-Roman landmarks, old-world cafes and sandy beaches. Its 15th-century seafront Qaitbay Citadel is now a museum. There are several things to visit in Alexandria like: Pompey’s Pillar and Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa, the Citadel of Qaitbay, the Alexandria National Museum and Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Montaza Gardens, and the Al-Haramlik Palace.
