The Cultural and Social Activities Department in Abu Qir organized the opening of the second batch of the summer camp for Arab university youth in its tenth session, with the participation of 65 male and female trainees during the period from August 22 to 25, 2026

The Cultural and Social Activities Department in Abu Qir, affiliated with the Deanship of Student Affairs at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, held the opening ceremony for the second cohort of the 10th annual Summer Camp for Arab University Students on Saturday, August 22, 2026. Organized by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in cooperation with the Arab Academy, the camp will host 65 male and female trainees from Arab universities from August 22 to 25, 2026. This current session is part of the ongoing partnership between the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, which began in 2016. The initiative continues its role in empowering Arab youth, developing their knowledge and skills, and enhancing communication and cultural exchange among Arab university students. The opening session was attended by Dr. Mustafa Rashid, Assistant President of the Academy for Arab Affairs and Scientific Supervisor of the program and lectures; Professor Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Azm, Dean of Student Affairs at the Academy's main campus; and Dr. Abeer Murad, Director of the Academy's Corporate Communications Department. Dr. Alia Munir, Head of the Administrative Follow-up Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, were present, along with representatives from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and Arab university students participating in the camp. At the start of the opening ceremony, Dr. Mustafa Rashid conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, welcoming the delegation from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the participants from various Arab universities. He emphasized the importance of continuing this program, which represents a successful model of Arab cooperation in the field of youth development and capacity building. He noted that the program reaching its tenth session marks a significant milestone in the cooperation between the Academy and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, stressing that the program's continuity over ten years reflects the success of the experience and its impact on supporting Arab youth by providing them with the opportunity to learn about the latest educational and training systems and to explore the academic and research experiences offered by the Academy. Dr. Mustafa Rashid also reviewed a number of the most prominent developmental milestones the Academy has witnessed in recent years, its progress in international indicators and rankings, and the expansion of its international academic partnerships. The establishment and development of several modern colleges and educational facilities were discussed, including the Academy's branch in New Alamein City, and colleges of Artificial Intelligence, Human Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy. Professor Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Azm, Dean of Student Affairs at the main campus, welcomed the delegation from the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the Arab university students participating in the camp, emphasizing the Deanship of Student Affairs' commitment to providing a comprehensive educational and cultural environment that contributes to the development of students' personalities, refines their skills, and enhances their leadership and creative abilities.

The Dean of Student Affairs delivered a lecture entitled “The Leading Role of the Arab Academy in Supporting Student Activities,” during which he discussed the Academy’s vision for supporting student activities as a fundamental component of the educational process. He also addressed the Academy’s role in discovering students’ talents and developing their personal, leadership, and creative skills. In addition, he reviewed a number of youth initiatives and programs that contribute to preparing students for active participation and competition at both the local and international levels. In the same context, Mr. Yasser Abu Seido, representative of the Training Department at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, praised the role of the Arab Academy as a key partner in implementing and supporting initiatives aimed at Arab youth. He emphasized that the Academy’s hosting of the camp for the tenth consecutive year reflects the depth of the partnership and institutional cooperation between the two parties.

He explained that the areas of cooperation between the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the Academy extend beyond the summer training program to include a number of projects and initiatives, including League of Arab States simulation models, student field visits to the General Secretariat headquarters, and specialized training programs in artificial intelligence applications. Dr. Abeer Murad, Director of Corporate Communications at the Academy, also delivered a lecture entitled "The Foundations of Dealing with Cultural Diversity and Multinationalities in Light of International Etiquette and Protocol," in which she addressed the importance of awareness of cultural and civilizational diversity in enhancing communication and work within multinational international environments. The lecture touched on a number of topics related to professional communication skills, international etiquette and protocol, how to deal with cultural differences, and how to avoid common mistakes in multicultural work environments, as well as the importance of utilizing civilizational diversity as a source of innovation and creativity and a support for achieving sustainable institutional growth. The camp, which runs for four days from August 22 to 25, 2026, includes a comprehensive program combining educational and training lectures, student activities, visits, and practical applications. The program allows participants to experience the educational and student life at the Academy and develop their skills in cultural, social, and leadership fields. The Deanship of Student Affairs at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport oversees the camp's logistical and operational aspects through the Cultural and Social Activities Department in Abu Qir. This includes receiving participating delegations, arranging accommodation, monitoring sessions and events, and providing necessary support to participants throughout the program. Organizing the camp reflects the Arab Academy's commitment to supporting Arab youth initiatives and strengthening ties among students.
