In line with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport's commitment to supporting practical application and bridging the gap between academic study and real-world experience, and in accordance with the directives of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy, aimed at achieving a balance between academic achievement and recreation, and fostering community awareness among students, the Cultural and Social Activities Department in Abu Qir organized a scientific and recreational trip for students of the Faculty of Fisheries and Aquaculture to fish farms in Port Said Governorate on April 23 and 24, 2026. The visit included learning about the mechanisms for establishing and managing fish farms, their importance in supporting the Egyptian economy, and their contribution to meeting a significant portion of the local market's fish needs. Students also learned about the difference between natural marine fish production and imports, enhancing their understanding of their specialization and its vital role in achieving food security. The program also included recreational and cultural activities such as a tour of the city, a ferry crossing, visits to local markets, and lunch, all designed to support the students' psychological and social well-being and strengthen their connection to the social and tourist environments of different cities. The students were accompanied on the trip by several faculty members from the College of Fisheries and Aquaculture, under the supervision of the Cultural and Social Activities Department, and in coordination with the Deanship of Student Affairs, headed by Professor Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Abu El-Azm, Dean of Student Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Khalifa, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, who spare no effort in providing all means of support for the educational process and student activities. These events come within the framework of the Academy's strategy aimed at preparing distinguished graduates, both academically and practically, capable of meeting the demands of the labor market, under the patronage and guidance of His Excellency Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Academy.
