AASTMT Inaugurates Special Pavilion for the Works of President Mahmoud Abbas
The President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), His Excellency Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, and the Consul General of the State of Palestine in Alexandria, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Wafik Abu Sido, inaugurated a special pavilion dedicated to the literary and political works of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas, President of the State of Palestine. The inauguration took place at the Academy’s main library, in the presence of Ms. Nagla Yacout, Director of the Information and Library Services Center.
The event was attended by library staff and members of the academic community, where the works of President Mahmoud Abbas were officially deposited to be made accessible to students and researchers.
During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar emphasized the significance of these works as a vital reference for understanding President Abbas’s political vision and the broader context of the Palestinian cause. He noted that the collection would serve to deepen awareness and academic engagement with the Palestinian issue among future generations.
Ambassador Dr. Wafik Abu Sido also presented a historical map of Palestine to the President of the Academy for deposit in the newly inaugurated Palestinian wing. The event concluded with the exchange of commemorative shields between both parties as a gesture of mutual appreciation.
In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar extended his sincere thanks to the Academy Library staff for their outstanding efforts in curating and organizing the pavilion, ensuring it would serve as a valuable resource for the academic community. He also expressed appreciation to the Industrial Service Complex, led by Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Kilani, for the creative and distinguished design of the pavilion.
